FAQs

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the leaves and flower of the hemp plant. While many medical marijuana products are made from plants with high concentrations of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD is a non-psychoactive, non-addictive substance extracted from hemp that will not give you the ‘high’ associated with marijuana.

Is CBD legal?

Yes. The 2018 Farm Bill legalized the production of hemp and removed it from the list of controlled substances. However, the bill bans the growing of any plant with more than 0.3% THC content. That’s why the amount of THC you’ll find in any of our products never exceeds 0.3%, in conjunction with federal and state law.

What does CBD do?
CBD has many uses and applications. Research has suggested numerous benefits associated with CBD, including treatment of:

How does CBD work?

CBD interacts with your endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is responsible for regulating your immune system, nervous system and mood. ECS receptors are located in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands and immune system. CBD works to create a homeostasis throughout every bodily system, resulting in overall balance and wellness.

How is CBD taken?

CBD can be ingested, inhaled or applied topically. CBD oil tinctures are one of the most popular methods, in which drops are placed underneath the tongue and absorbed into the bloodstream. Our range of CBD products includes flower, vape cartridges, capsules, various edibles, lotions, body oils and creams. For detailed information specific to a product, contact us or check the label to find instructions on proper administration.

What’s the difference between milliliters and milligrams on CBD labels?

The milliliters shown on the label refers to the amount of liquid, by volume, in the bottle. Milligrams explains the concentration of CBD in the entire bottle. Compare the milliliters to milligrams to understand the strength of the product. For example, a 30ml bottle with 2000mg of CBD has the same potency as a 15ml bottle with 1000mg of CBD per milliliter.

How much should I take?

Dosing is unique to each user, and we recommend experimenting to see what works for you. Start low, and if there are no unwanted side effects, you can increase your dosage. Keep in mind, after ingesting or applying CBD products, it may take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour to feel effects. Find more information and a general dosing guide here.

What is the difference between isolate and full-spectrum CBD products?

CBD isolate products contain zero THC. Full-spectrum CBD products contain no more than 0.3% THC, as mandated by state and federal law. Full-spectrum products contain nearly all the cannabinoids naturally occurring in the hemp plant. When these cannabinoids interact, the therapeutic benefits of each compound are magnified, creating what scientists call the “entourage effect.”

Will consuming CBD products cause me to fail a drug test?

It is extremely unlikely that a high-quality CBD product, that meets state and federal standards, will result in a failed drug test. Drug tests are generally designed to pick up traces of THC. While the cannabinoid CBD (the only cannabinoid present in CBD isolate products) is non-psychoactive and should not trigger a positive result on a drug test, drug tests can vary on the substances they track. It’s also important to consider that other factors, including age, weight, metabolism and amount of CBD consumed, may also affect an individual’s drug test results.

We encourage you to come in to the store or send us a message to discuss the factors that may affect your individual answer to this question.

Can CBD interact with other medications?

It depends. CBD does have the potential to influence the efficacy of other medications. Spacing out medication may be a possible solution to avoid unwanted interaction. It’s important to speak with your doctor to determine a proper medication schedule and decide what form of CBD is the best fit with your current prescription drug regime.

Can my cat/dog take CBD?

Yes. The endocannabinoid system exists in all mammals. Because of this, cats and dogs can experience the same relief from anxiety and pain. The suggested dosage for pets ranges from 0.5-5 mg per 10 pounds of body weight, up to twice daily. Dosage and products vary, so we encourage you to come in to the store to discuss the right solution for your pet. For more information, be sure to consult your veterinarian.

We often hear our customers express concern about giving a full-spectrum CBD pet product to their animal because of THC. Full-spectrum CBD products contain such a small amount of THC (no more than 0.3%) that it is not harmful to pets, it can actually be more beneficial than CBD isolate when it comes to managing things like cancer and advanced arthritis
